I am not normally a chicken cook, because I don't like handling the birds or basting them or anything.
This roaster is awesome! I put two chickens in there stuffed with a quartered onion- then I simply brushed some veggie oil over the top of the birds. I roasted them for about a hour and they were cooked to perfection! Krispy skin, juicy inside, all awesome! Definitely a keeper.
Works great!
The roaster works great, I used it for Thanksgiving for my turkey as a "trial run" for Christmas when I have guests. The only exception is the instructions for cooking my turkey. They tell you to put it on a temperature that is too high. I will follow my instincts and set it at a sedate 325 and roast it low and slow on the 25th.
But mechanically speaking, it delivers! I would recommend it for freeing your conventional oven for sides and the like.
Good Cooker
For a 18 Quart roaster over I can put 4 peace's of fish is it or a full rack of chicken. Does not take long to heat up and does not heat my house up like my home oven does. Love it. Just wish it had a light to tell me when it was done preheating.
