Hamilton Beach HB Two-Slice Toaster

Nice Unit....Low wattage....
Toaster looks nice but does not have the balls "watts" to get the job done. With a plain wheat bagel and the toaster set at its highest setting "duration", it takes twice, 2X, two cycles...... or plainly said (WAY TO LONG TO TOAST ANY KIND OF BREAD). Also Costco sells this for $19.99 + Tax of course.

My kingdom for a toaster
Purchased Hamilton Beach Model 22534E at the local big box store for twenty bucks. I expected a cheap appliance that performed the sole simple task of toasting bread.

Hamilton Beach packed a surprising amount of frustration into this innocuous little $20 landfill token. Try to toast an English muffin. Go ahead, dial it up to the highest setting, because it'll barely brown the edges. So you send it through a second pass, wisely dialing down to the lowest setting.

Smoke alarms at six in the morn! On the second go, with the heating elements at full steam from the first run, even the lowest setting will turn your barely-toasted English muffins into charcoal. And as a side bonus, wake your neighbors.

Unless you are VERY careful to hover over the toaster and manually cancel before the burn. Even then, the finished product turns out much darker on the bottom half, so if you desire the luxury of evenly toasted bread, you'll have to remove, rotate, and...

Broke in less than a year
Worked decently for about 6 months, then started uneven toasting and then stopped working all together. Would not recommend purchasing.
