Technivorm KBG741 AO Red Metallic Moccamaster Glass Carafe Coffee Maker

Best coffee maker EVER
I purchased this coffee maker because of the review in Cooks Illustrated magazine. They described the coffee maker exactly as it works. I don't even grind my own beans and this coffee maker, makes awesome coffee. I had been using a Mr. Coffee product for years believing that they knew how to make a great coffee maker. They don't. Their coffee makers are cheap and make awful coffee. I always had to add cream and sugar to drink the stuff that came out of the Mr. Coffee product. Now I enjoy coffee the way it was intended to be consumed, PLAIN.
The instructions with this coffee maker recommend using a paper filter "because the gold filter get clogged with oil" and can lead to an overflow. I purchased a gold filter and clean it carefully every time I make coffee and have not had any problems.

Here's my story:
I picked glass because I don't like stainless steel (I don't like to have to "warm" it and I think stainless imparts a funny taste).
I didn't go with the model that you can adjust the basket from open, to half-way, to closed. The reason: I don't want to "mess" around, I don't want to take chance of an overflow because...
