Mr. Coffee VMX37 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel

Better choice than a Krups
I originally bought a Krups KM1000 because I really liked the analog clock on its face. I bought a Krups because I thought I was buying quality. Not so. I went through 2 factory replacements, before I found this Mr. Coffee... a much better choice. It's easy to take care of, makes great coffee (you can set the brew strength) and has a filter system. The filter system is a racket.. they want you to use one filter a month and they cost about $4 for 2. We have pretty hard water, so I found that when the filter gets clogged, soak it in vinegar all day and then rinse it really, really, really well before putting it back in use. This may not work for everyone, but it did for me. The Mr. Coffee has an audible beep when the coffee is done brewing as well as a self clean cycle. I still do an additional manual clean every month due to our hard water. The burner plate's finish does not wear off like the Krups plate's finish. I bought a couple more to keep in stock because I'm sure this style will...

Great buy
Replaced our Cuisinart with this model. Easy to use and clean, and coffee is nice and hot. The light is bright at night which is ok in our house. I only wish it had a thermal pot that kept the coffee really hot without ruining the flavor. Great buy.

Cheaper at Wal-Mart
Gave this as a gift and everyone seems very pleased with it. Makes good coffee, carafe pours well, and it has all the features one would want. Can be purchased at Wal-Mart for $45, which surprised me because Amazon is usually the best price. I cannot imagine why coffee pots have become so expensive. Technically brewing coffee is so simple. Read the reviews and it is clear that all the extra features can cause problems. This item is "upscale" without the price. Higly recommended!
